I took this buck Friday evening at our lease in Mason County. To be perfectly honest, I thought he was bigger when I shot him. He was chasing a doe hard, and I didn't have much time to make a decision. I thought he was in the mid 140's....but will probably score more around the mid 130's. He was a mature deer, but had a fairly small body (around 140 lbs)...so I believe that contributed to the slight "ground shrinkage".

In any case, he is still a beautiful buck and I am proud to have him....a very nice deer for the Hill Country. He is also my first buck to take with a double digit number of points. I've killed numerous 9 point whitetails in my life, but never one with 10 or more. He will make a handsome European mount. I hope you guys enjoy....

What kind of snake boots are you wearing? My Danner Slip-on's are awesome, but getting tired; and I don't think they make them anymore. About time for some new ones.
