Hell of a year sheep hunting
I had a hell of a year with clients hunting Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep

This was our state draw hunters ram with my ugly mug in the picture. Had him meet me on the road at 6:30am and we were done by 8:30am. He heavily broomed on his left but if you doubled his right side he's 182" and has 16 2/8" bases

This is a ram my clients killed with me in October. Pictures simply do not do this ram justice. 16 7/8" bases, 16 3/8" on his seconds and well over 15" on his thirds his score starts to add up pretty quick. He officially grossed 191" and netted 190 3/8" making him one of the top 6 or 7 Rockies killed in NM one one of the best all time killed by a woman.

I'll get a couple more pictures up shortly

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

Amazing. Great stuff, Drum. Thanks for sharing. Quite the dent/gash in the headgear of that one old boy. Looks like he squared off with a plow blade as a younger lad... Wink

The amount of drop and mass below the jaw on that 191 is incredible. Wow!

He is magnificent! I'll post a few videos of him on the hoof a little later. I knew he was big but this being the first ever sheep hunt in that unit made it tough to field judge. I do t think anybody could have given him damn near 17" on the bases. His mass is simply world class

That is off scale.

I probably wish I had had the interest and money to hunt sheep when I was younger.
