I'd like to help a young man bag his first deer. He's a quadruple amputee and does surprisingly well in everyday life with his prosthetic limbs but handling a rifle safely and taking an accurate shot would be a real challenge. I have to believe that someone makes a rest that holds a rifle and can pan and tilt as well as fire on command but I have no idea of where to start looking for such a device. I considered putting my control system design skills to work and build one but there has to be something like this already on the market and there's no need to reinvent the wheel.

Any ideas?

I can vouch for these guys as myself being a quadriplegic and use it to hunt all the time.If he has trouble getting his eye to the scope they also make a camera to display the crosshairs on the screen. If you have any questions just let me know.

Randy: Thanks for the tip. I'm dealing with a number of health issues that have greatly affected my ability to hunt. But my challenges are not much compared to what you and my young friend are facing.

Don't forget to find someone to load up some low recoil loads. I load fo a guy who shoots a 30-06 from his chair and the Barnes 130swith a moderate charge of Varget put and end to his scope rash issues resulting from not being able to lock into the stock decently.

Wish the guy the best from out this way too.
Looks like the equipment you were looking for is already made at a reasonable price.

IF he's a VET and his problems were caused on duty check with VA, and DAV etc. They might have a program to buy it for him.

Amazing what's out there if you just know where to look or ask.
