Well, officially, it was classified a ‘bomb cyclone’ here in Colorado. We got a lot of snow in parts. Highest wind recorded was in Colorado Springs at 97 mph. Most major highways and interstates were closed. Some people (hundreds) spent anywhere from 10-20 hours stranded in their vehicles. Miraculously, only one person died, a Colorado State Trooper. Pretty sad event for us. But, being Colorado, the sun is out, and snow is melting fast on the front range. All major river systems are mostly at 150% snow pack levels. All in all, I think we came out pretty good, except for the one death.

Hell of a deal. Down here in Pueblo we just got rain and 78mph. Only snow I saw was a dozen flakes floating around. Some over 50 big tree's were blown over. This time I got lucky and only a few dead branches blew down. It was cloudy the next day so I couldn't see the mtns to the SW: Greenhorn, Spanish Peaks. Expect they're buried though. Haven't heard much other than up N of here. Where do they come up with those big fancy names for a downburst? Snow slides: avalanche's. SHIT!! Boise ID was dry too. Glad the springs got snow for a change, dry up there I've heard. George "Gun Control is NOT about Guns' "It's about Control!!" Join the NRA today!" LM: NRA, DAV, George L. Dwight

Yeah, ‘bomb cyclone’ is a term I had never heard of before. Apparently, they said it occurs when the barometric pressure drops 24 or more millibars in a 24 hour period. Hope I said that correctly. In tonights news, they said the storm was the lowest barometric pressure ever recorded in Colorado history.

Your wish will be granted! Nebraska is experiencing huge flooding right now. But either side of the continental divide will eventually receive a lot of water this year from Colorado. The news this morning said the overall Colorado average snowpack is 144%. That’s the highest it’s been in a long time.
