In reality most raffles are NOT tax deductible because in truth they have value. Usually can only write off the donation greater than the value. Kind of complicated. I would think that you could write it off if you did not win as a donation but that is tricky. Kind of like buying a hunt at an auction. You can only write off the amount you paid OVER the retail value of the hunt. My other thoughts on this would be it is for a great cause and whether you could write it off or not your donation will go to people doing great work.
