Doc,

I have NO doubt that the elk will die. I will be using a 500 A^2 with the 570gr TSX. My doubt is that it will perform as well as the Woodleigh's SN do (the A2 is much more "fond" of the TSX hence their usage instead of the Woodleigh). I also seriously doubt that my .510" diameter TSX will make holes like those posted above.

I'll get pictures and post them.

to those who've had good experiences with TSX, i say congratulations. you either got lucky or, more likely, used the bullet in a manner that it was designed for.

I don't think anyone referred to Phil as a liar. I know I didn't. If anyone thought I did, you didn't read my posts very well. I specifically inferred that Phil was MISLED, or possibly LIED TO. But he himself, not a liar.

As far as getting lucky with TSX bullets, well, we can infer from this is that we are ALL lucky with ALL bullets, because we can only hope with each and every shot that the bullet performs to our expectations. Right?

I am NOT a fan of Barnes bullets -- never have been and never will.

But those pictures are not what I've come to expect of the X or TSX -- and are far from it, in fact. X-bullet exits are clean, even when heavy bone is involved, and tend to resemble those made by LBT-style bullets in big-bore revolvers.

And the one photo, to me, exhibited what can best be described as a sharp knife cut for several inches heading away from the exit.

Barnes X and TSX bullet may fail to expand, but they don't do what was depicted in the photos.

However, I was not there, so I can only state my opinion. The only person who knows for sure is the guy or gal who fired the shots.
