Arild IversenNickudu..
Thanks a lot, great story.
Some of my fathers family emigratet to Alaska and Washington at the same time and I have heard the stories of the hardship they endured.
But as times were bad back here in Norway,
many ( the most adventures and free minded I guess ) opted for a better way of life in US and Candada.

HunterJimWe had several .300 Savage shooters in my family when I was a youngster in the 40s and 50s. They used both the Savage M99 lever gun and the Savage M20 bolt gun. My one "racy" uncle had a Winchester M70 in .300 H&H.
Those hunters used the .300 Savage because it was designed to equal original .30'06 ballistics in a short action rifle. It definitely kills game dead.
The Army started with the .300 Savage cartridge in their development work for the 7.62X51/.308 Win.

trbI believe the .300 Savage is only a threat to big game when the rifle is in the hands of a Norwegian...
