wyoming where to stay question

Drew area 42 antelope wondering if someone has any advise where to stay? Going late season,not planning to camp. Looking for clean hotel/motel near restarants some where close or at least western close

Laramie might be your best bet. If you are hunting the northern part of 42, Douglas. I don't think Rock River has much to offer, but I haven't been there in years. Remember, we don't think twice of driving 90 miles one way to shop .

I think Shawnmc pretty well hit the nail on the head. It's probably there or on over to the west in Rawlins, but if it was me I'd probably go down to Laramie.

I think Laramie will be the place to stay. I really don't like to camp much anymore. Really like having a hot shower and a bed at the end of the day. I guess I'm just getting soft. Plus while on vacation I prefer to eat what someone else cooks. I understand about western distance I live in the Adirondacks we have to drive for everything. Which is fine by me. Thanks for the replies

That AR hunt sounds like a pretty good answer. Trade off the hotel and food, gas and long drives, if you do it alone, the guided option wouldn't be too much more money. And people are usually better in person than on these forums where they can act like children and get away with it. The AR unt sounds like a good time if you can make it work.

Mark Young has a lovely home!

Located on the west side of Cody, Mark and Sadies house has pretty views of the valley and reservoir to the north, both are exceptional chef's and the guest rooms very nicely furnished. After a hard days hunt and a delicious supper, evenings can be spent with a fine cocktail, plenty of taxidermy pieces from around the world to appreciate and of course the couples fine company.

As Mark likes to say, "Contact him any time with your questions!"

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Can't go till the middle of Oct. Driving out the 12th I believe. Hopefully the lopes have calmed down some by then.

The ground hogs don't interest me, but the speed goats do. I am checking into different areas, but if you come up with something we might be interested.

I have shot prairie dogs and rockchucks, but never a woodchuck. Either one are a hoot.

Never have had a hankering to shoot Sod Poodles or any of the other rats. Speed Goats are a whole different concept. I firmly believe that speed goats are the most fun animal to hunt.

I hope I can get something put together because it has been way too long since I had the chance to hunt the things.
