Ive never applied for a NM elk tag but plan on it this year. Im trying to decided on an area to apply for. Im looking for the best possible unit that will produce a 330+ bull. I have horses and can pack in so a roadless area might be better. Anybody have any suggestions what units to look at for my 3 choices?
Thanks

Look over in the Gila, units 16. I think 16B is the roadless area. Warning - the draw odds are long. However, there are some good bulls over there.

I can recomend an outfitter in Colfax County (North East) that can realy up your odds in the draw. This wouldnt be a
do-it-yourself though if that is what you desire.

I was wondering how 16E compares to 13? Im looking at possibly doing a muzzleloader hunt. Which one has the best public land?
