I picked him up during a 5 day hunt in New Mexicos 2b unit. I must have seen 250 deer but only 15 or so bucks with most of those being spikes of forkies. I saw 4-5 medium sized deer.

I finally got mine in the evening of the 4th day.

I posted up at a water hole and watched 18 does and one forkie come in. Then all of a sudden they all spooked and ran 30 or so yards in every direction. About a minute of two later my deer came in.

He made a b line straight for the hole and I shot him at 215 yards.

I swear I must have walked over 50 miles this week and it is a trophy I'll never forget!

Nothing like seeing your hard work pay off eh? That's a pretty good deer. When I was a kid growing up in that country I would have been tickled with him. Congratulations.

Thanks guys, as worried as I was about not getting something as the hunt ticked on, getting him late gave me a whole new appreciation.
