On our farm we have a cabin that we always stay in during hunting season. You can shoot 300 yards in one direction, and as far as you want out across very long soybean and cornfields the other.
Anyway if we have already tagged a buck, usually someone raises the window as we have kind of a bench built on to the window and uses their doe tags for camp meat.
This cabin was lived in by my great aunt before she died and it still has all the necessities, fridge, stove, wood stove, beds, couch, tv, reloading room, kitchen table, it's livable another words.
Now is that a good deer stand or what???

It's OK with me as long as you know your backstop. As a matter of fact, I'm envious.

Now worries about the backstop. Been staying in it since I was a teenager, nothing to hit but a mountain

No that isn't wrong. What's the difference between shooting out of a cabin and shooting out of a box blind? Nothing.

There are "mini ranches" around here that have the right location and are owned by, often, wealthy out-of-staters. Said folks will quite consistantly shoot nice bull elk off the deck. Course they think they're elk hunter's but those that have really hunted elk know better. While there's absolutely nothing wrong with the approach, and I'd certainly not pass on a 350 bull so presented, I'd not take any pride in it or think I'd hunted... I'd "shot" only.

As you said, it's for "meat" animal's... sounds like a nice setup!

kudu56,
Well there's not a still. but for those of you who drink my dad does sometimes make homemade wine there..

The only reason why we have it is because it has been in the family since at least the 1800's I know.
