I took my wife and 2 kids out ice fishing this weekend at a perch tournament in Utah. My 2 ½ year old daughter, Gabby, had a total blast! She couldn't wait to catch a fishy so she could eat it! She's already been on her momma's limited entry bull elk hunt, and loves taking any opportunity to come with me looking for deer. I can't believe I got so lucky with this little girl, and I can only hope that my 7 month old son grows up to be just like her.

My step mom took this video of my daughter fishing, and its in a competition for the tournament. We are neck and neck with another video, so if you have Facebook I'd appreciate it if you could follow this link and like our video. The contest ends next Monday at noon. Thanks!

Here fishy fishy

I wouldn't call it luck it is called training

Too many parents believe you can't help a child like something.

Positive reinforcement/encouragement along making it fun.

I see a lot of parents who but a huge amount of time recourses into the ball sports. But very little into hunting/fishing and wonder why their kids don't like hunting or fishing.

Keep at it and they well grow up to be hunters fishers and good outdoor persons

Good to see kids getting started out the right way.

Even the rocks don't last forever.

Had me concerned about stepping off into the hole!

Good start, just keep it safe! Rope around her middle to a big chair or anchor pin etc.
