My 12 year old (13 in October) took this Aoudad last night. He was 28". She shot him at around 150 yards with her 7mm-08 using one of my reduced recoil loads - 120 gr Sierra ProHunter at 2,650 fps. He bucked hard, ran 5 feet and fell over. I had her put one in the breast (his chest was facing use as he lay on the ground) for insurance. I wish I had propped him up for a better pic because he was truly awesome. Also, you can see the first shot under the skin on his right shoulder! Perfect mushroom!

She was so excited that she was crying for 5 minutes. It took a good while to get a clear shot as he was pushing all of the other mature males around in a total herd of about 30-35 Aoudad.

I also pulled the game cam photos from the same camera and found this boar. I have never seen one this close to an European boar in Texas. And I only saw him for one day, on one camera. I assume he vacated Europe due to all the refugees. I hope more of his kin migrate to Texas, they are welcome any time!

Waidmannsheil to the young lady, well done and good shooting.

'Bout that Boar, had heard they were getting pushed out of the old world, looks like you got proof. Definitely got the European genes in him.

Great job Dad!

Sadly my daughters are getting too busy with their lives to go shooting with me much anymore but the son and the grand daughter still want to go. I'm waiting for the 2 year old grandson to start and I have his rifle ready.

Good job dad and Ella!!
You two are making memories to last a lifetime or two, congratulations.
Tell Ella good shooting! nothing wrong with those reduced loads, my first son used 130 grain bullets in his .284 Win going about 2500 fps to take his first Deer and Elk.

Congrats on the ram.

I scalped this pig photo from here in California off of the Vandenberg Military base hunting site.

Funny how one hoglet is a watermelon and the other one is a feral. Not everyone in the litter must have had the same daddy.
