What is the best destination for a "budget" Moose hunt in North America? I have always dreamed of a big trophy Moose hunt in Alaska or the Yukon....but the prices are beyond what I'd probably ever be willing to pay. I know there are a huge range of Moose hunting experiences available in the U.S. and Canada....but I'm curious which destinations would best meet the following criteria: - Lodge/cabin based hunt - Guided - High success rates for mature bulls (doesn't have to be a huge bull, but not interested in shooting a young fork-horn bull either) - Less than $10,000 all-in Newfoundland seems to be a reasonable option, but I'm curious what else is available. What are your recommendations? _______________________________________________________ Hunt Report - South Africa 2022 Wade Abadie - Wild Shot Photography Website | Facebook | Instagram

I've never hunted moose with this outfit but have hunted bear with them several times. On each trip, we always saw many moose. I think they charge about $5-6K for a fall hunt. The original owner has died, but they're still operating in the same place. Sentinel Mt. Safaris Tony Mandile - Author "How To Hunt Coues Deer"

You dojn't need a guide in Alaska. Get the info you need by speaking to an experienced resident, find a pilot or a boat and head to this bush. Should be less than 5K with the flight to AK, the charter out and back or a boat ride, and your gear. I know a gent with a boat that would drop you off or take you. He's not a guide, just a gent with a boat who likes to hunt. _______________________________ Cal Pappas, Willow, Alaska www.CalPappas.com www.CalPappas.blogspot.com 1994 Zimbabwe 1997 Zimbabwe 1998 Zimbabwe 1999 Zimbabwe 1999 Namibia, Botswana, Zambia--vacation 2000 Australia 2002 South Africa 2003 South Africa 2003 Zimbabwe 2005 South Africa 2005 Zimbabwe 2006 Tanzania 2006 Zimbabwe--vacation 2007 Zimbabwe--vacation 2008 Zimbabwe 2012 Australia 2013 South Africa 2013 Zimbabwe 2013 Australia 2016 Zimbabwe 2017 Zimbabwe 2018 South Africa 2018 Zimbabwe--vacation 2019 South Africa 2019 Botswana 2019 Zimbabwe vacation 2021 South Africa 2021 South Africa (2nd hunt a month later) ______________________________

Wade, As Cal suggested you can do a DIY in AK for under $10,000 all-in. Don't try to do it yourself though. Do bring a partner that is an outdoorsman or women. Learn how to call. You can be in moose heaven and if you can't call you might never even see one. Unit 18 at this time has no antler restriction because there are so many moose. There are transporters flying out of Bethel into Unit 18 that claim 100% success!!!!!!!!! Newfoundland can offer you a fully guided moose hunt for $5,000-$10,000 depending on what your looking for. If you want to sleep in a cabin with a bear skin rug and fire place and hot showers you probably need to do it in Estonia or Belarus. Those Texan millennials are a tough breed. $10,000 would do it all day long. Talk to Kai-Uwe https://www.premium-jagdreisen..._content.php?coID=11 You could probably even sip sherry out of a thimble with your pinkie out. If you want to sleep on the ground and bring the meat home (and if Canada ever opens their borders) I would recommend Alberta, Saskatchewan, BC, Manitoba or Newfoundland.

Maine, if you can draw a tag. But there are outfitters with tags for sale YMMV --------------------------------- We unfortunately will vote our way into socialism. The end result will be having to shoot our way out of it.

I've been looking at this exact type of hunt for a couple of years. Central alberta where the farmland meets the forest has tons of moose, and a "meat moose" hunt can be had for 6-8k from what i've found. 30-40" moose. plenty for me. I was planning on going next year, but with all of the '20 hunts being pushed due to the 'rona, and with canada still closed, I do not think I'll find many good options for next year. So now I'm leaning toward the DIY AK option with a bush pilot outfit.

Look up my moose hunt from almost 3 years ago. I shot a 73 5/8 inch moose. I'm heading back with Mark this year. Hopefully my hunting buddy will get a nice moose. I'm just going in case a second big one steps out. And as said before, learn to call moose!
