This is the time of the year when I start getting hunting withdrawl and cabin fever. Has anyone here done a free range Aoudad hunt that they'd recommend?

We have a pretty good free range herd in the guadaloupe mountains near Carlsbad, NM. The herd is pretty good but they are fairly difficult to find. Deffinatly not a cake walk, but fun. Nonres tag is $360.00 over the counter...........Wapiti7

Hunted with Bubba Glosson myself (www.swhunts.com). Outstanding package, probably the best free range Aoudad hunts available. Also www.bossranch.com

Try Hunter Ross with Desert Safaris (www.desertsafaris.com). I have hunted with him several times and know he has a quality free range hunt in West Texas.

Wapiti7,
I am vaguely familiar with the Guadalupe escarpment but I'm also curious about another area listed with the NM F&G website. They mention a couple of state parks and or management areas west closer to Grants as having free rannging aoudad. Water Canyon? What's the story there? Any reason to go?

Hunted a few years back with Ulazysranch.com in SW Texas... Free range aoudad hunt on 20,000+ acres. They have a great operation, with wonderful ammenities, and my budy and I both took rams over 30". Like someone else said, it aint a cakewalk, but it sure is a lot of fun to do when there's notheing else going!

I usew Bubba Glosson of South West Trophy hunts. Hunted near Marfa in the Chinati mountains and killed a 28" Ram on my 3rd day. Saw lots of sheep and it didn't break the bank. I hunted in March. Good outfitter and has alot of territory. Good judge of sheep!

$4800 for the privlige of shooting free-range. I think I'll shoot mine on the Indian Head ranch for half that.

The Indian Head is 10,000 acres surround by one fence with no cross fencing. Not free range, but if it was 50,000 would it be?

What's the number? I guess it only matters to the individual.

I've got lots of good doodad hunting. If you consider 64k acres private land to be free range, drop me a PM and I'll give you the low down on hunting the east slope of the Sacramento Mtns in southern NM. About 1/2 price of the TX hunts.

Pancho,

Why don't you post the price and details so everyone can see what you have to offer?

Saeed has always allowed us (outfitters, booking agents) to post offers, but he always asks that you post the info for everyones benefit.

Good free range Aoudad hunts are not plentiful. You might be surprised at the response you get.
