I took a whitetail some years ago that had a live weight of 345 and he was no where near the size of this one, I bet that one is 500 or better

This picture has actually been around for quite some time. Certainly a large Whitetail but I think it's really an optical illusion. I've seen some discussions about it previously and that is usually the conclusion.

If you look at the size of the leaves and the vegetation on the ground and above his rump, it starts to become clear that the camera angle and possibly even the lens (fisheye) used is what has distorted the size of its body. Look at the size of the hunter's right hand compared to the size of his head. The proportions even on the right side of the photo look out of whack to me.

In 1926 a Minnesota buck was taken that field dressed 402 pounds. DNR estimated line weight at 511 pounds.

Artificial deer and inbred for grotesque antlers. Fenced and fed.
It is not a hunt but shooting. There is a place here in Pa. SCI aired a show with 2 guys there talking about the hunt. It was nothing but a load of crap.
