Not so fast... I've got another tag! .... so read the below, if interested. Disregard the "Sold!" ... there's room for one more. Sold! Thanks, anyway! If you are interested, please contact me about hunting whitetails in Manitoba this November 6th. I have two slots reserved for a blackpowder hunt. It is the week before gun season and the bucks have begun to make scrapes and fight some... the middle of the rut will be the following week. It is a fine time to take a great buck. The only problem is that you'll have to put up with my b.s. to and from the stand and at supper. I may even give someone a taste of some primo single malt one evening??? The operator has been in business for 13 or so years and has about 20 tags a year. I'm pretty sure that he has never gone a year without one of those tags resulting in a B&C buck. Most of the hunting is from heated blinds over crop fields, but portable towers and ladder stands are used when appropriate. I'm not much of a muzzleloader guy, but I found a rifle on http://www.auctionarms.com that shoots 3" at 150 yards with sabots, so, I guess I'm ready?? I'll be popping some caps in the meantime. I suggest you look at http://www.prbullet.com if you're not into muzzleloading since it has a wealth of information. BTW, I have the NEF Huntsman with the .25acp conversion ignition. It is really fine! It will be cold. I hunted one day when the temp was -20 C and the wind was 40K's, but most of the time it will be tolerable if you have the right gear. Accomodations are in a little motel and you are picked up after breakfast and returned in time for supper. You'll have a coffee/tea Thermos and a sandwich for lunch, of course. You will spend all daylight on the stand (unless you wish otherwise), but the days are pretty short by then. You'll need to arrive at Winnipeg on the 5th of November and leave on Sunday morning of the 13th. Transport to/from camp is provided. Monday will be the first hunting day and Saturday the last (I believe)... You can't fly with blackpowder, so arrangement for the same (or Pyrodex or 777) need to be made. I'll be using 777 powder (not pellets) so you can have some of my can if you wish. Hunting will be in the Interlake area. I'm not going to publish the price or the outfitters name because this is a cancellation and about half price (he owed me one). I'll be glad to relate details to you by phone at 912 261 8339 at work, or e-mail me at properfistmele@hotmail.com This outfitter is one of the hardest working guys in the business. He will be scouting every daylight hour to find the most activity (likewise, his assistant guides). They produce. I've know the fellow for 16 years now, and this is only the second chance I've had to hunt with him for whitetails because everyone re-booked or kept the tags within the family or same hunting party for years. It is that good a place to hunt... and you won't believe the price. I reserve the right to refuse anyone based on political party, sexual preference, color (hair and skin), creed, state and country of origin or condition of teeth! Shapely women will receive immediate consideration... particularly if they don't smell too bad. If they are deaf-mutes, none of the above reservations apply. Count on maybe 8 hours of daylight by that time. The temperatures shouldn't be too cold, but the Interlake region is mixed terrain open/concealed, so dress warmer than you feel you need to as the winds up here will cut through anything eventually. Last year I hunted with a long sleeve t-shirt and my blaze vest it was so nice out, but going back a good 5 or 6 years I was bundled head to toe and still cold. Temperature can change by 20 degrees in a few hours depending on wind shifting and cloud cover, so be prepared. MikeyB: Thank you so much for the link... it reminds me: Canada considers muzzleloaders with ingitions systems using caplock/209 primers, etc., as firearms and you will need to do the import stuff. No problem in doing so, just get it done and don't wait until the last minute. And remember to list it on the customs declaration when arriving on your flight to Canada. Ernest, I'd sure like to go myself... I'm still wrapped up in fixing this house and don't want to get distracted. This should be a GREAT hunt for somebody. I've met the JudgeG and he's a great guy and would be a LOT of fun on a hunt. I REALLY wish I could go... $bob$

Judge, Wish I could take you up--but I'm just back from a 10 (11!) day trip to Wyoming and have used up absolutely all of my husband/daddy points (and am probably in negative territory when it comes to the husband side! ) I'll still be able to hunt opening day of Minnesota and four full days of Wisconsin...so maybe next year! Good luck, friar Our liberties we prize, and our rights we will maintain.
