Don: The article mentioned above has all the information you need, plus more. D'Arcy's rifles may not be the prettiest to look at, but they are supposed to be reliable. He modifies the bolt in several ways, and replaces the extractor (claw) with his own version of a stronger steel. He does the same with the magazine. This magazine is wider than the standard Model 70 "Classic" magazine, and I believe holds 4 rounds (some of the rifles). He also works the trigger assembly and replaces some of the parts with others of his own design, etc. He even replaces the barrel and the stock. I believe he takes over 80 steps in relation to modifications with each rifle. The idea is to create a reliable hunting rifle, including DG ones. | |||
