I saw the picture of the dead buck with those antlers. I think the only reason Rampola didn't get awarded the new record is because he is so damn quirky and mis-trusting of the record book process that he would rather keep it off the books than let it shine for posterity even at the expense of his integrity. What a shame, this idiot!

I think there was a lot more to it than just his quirkiness. That whole issue got a lot of attention here in Michigan for a couple years and seldom gets mentioned anymore. A lot of the circumstances just didn't flush. I'm a bit quirky too, but I wouldn't let that get in the way of making a couple hundred-grand if I shot a monster deer on the up and up!

The man stole $20,000 worth of food stamps and then turned down the chance to make at least 6 figures off his buck. Of course its real.
