Unfortunately, Colorado lost their spring bear season about 20 years ago when the bunny huggers got it put on the ballot for a vote. Don't think we'll ever get it back. So, no spring bear for me.

Losing that spring bear hunt in Colorado showed me just how fragile our hunting priviliges can be. You can lose them to the ballot box if you're not careful.

Send some of that snow about 130 mile south of you. All were getting is wind down here and everyone else is getting snow.

The Winds and Owl Creeks also have a ton of snow, I don't know how anyone will be able to get around to spot and stalk or put out their bait.
With all the snow are the bears starting to come out of the dens?

Good luck and post some picture.

We have baits in the sagebrush that are being hit. But try and go high and find some antlers, no way! Too deep.

Like stated above CO doesn't have a spring season. Which might change now that HB 11-1294 passed. However, I leave the 15th of May for another SE AK bear hunt. Hoping I can do better than I did in 2007. I mangaed to get a 19-1/4" bear measured by AK DNR last time.

He sure was skinny, I'd have loved to seen him after putting on his fat for winter. I wonder how big his body would have been by September? I'm guessing he was close to 300 lbs.

Yeah, I've got the itch!
