I have decided to go on a coastal brown bear hunt. I would like to go to the Kodiak island area. What would be the best time to go fall or spring? I am looking for a large bear. Any recomendations on an outfitter?

I would highly recommend Paul Chervenak with Cole Kramer as your guide. I hunted with them in May of '08 and shot a good bear and just talked to them this week and they shot some BIG bears this spring, at least two 10's.

They have a great area for big bears and run a first class operation. I'm trying to go back when my 4 years are up.
