Thanks to Ray, I will soon will be departing for the Alaska Peninsula for spring bear and wanted to hear from those who have been there - done that. I will be carrying my 375 HH with 300 grain Nosler Partitions and would appreciate shot placement advise.

From another Ray: I don't hunt bears, but the following site has lots of information on shot placement and other subjects: http://www.state.ak.us/local/akpages/FISH.GAME/wildlife/geninfo/hunting/huntak16.htm Notice that a bear's heart is lower in the chest cavity than some other animals. Most people (including myself) tent to shoot too high through the lungs unless we have enough time to think about shot placement.
