Utah draw- Deer, Sheep, bear, cougar, turkey
Utah special draws- deer, elk, buffalo, sheep, goats, moose

Colorado- Deer, elk, sheep

Wyoming- Deer, elk, moose, antelope

Arizona- deer

New Mexico- Deer

Nevada- Deer

Kansas- Deer

South Dakota- Deer

I have cut back over the past 10 years to the list above. I would put in for more if someone would like to foot the app costs for me. Wink

In the last 2 years I have drawn: Utah Moose, Utah Elk, Wyoming Elk twice, Kansas deer, Colorado deer twice, plus my over-the-counter hunts in Texas, Utah, Idaho. So many places to hunt, so little time and money to get to them all.

Tell your wife it is a Once In A Lifetime experience and tag for most of what you are trying to draw.

Not many compaired to you guys:

CO - elk, mule deer, bighorn, mtn goat, moose, antelope, bear and turkey

OK - elk and antelope

Other big game tags are over the counter. The rest of my hunting is usually upland game birds, which I hunted in NE, KS, CO, GA, and OK last year.

Wapiti7,
That's a pretty good list.
Here is the list of tags I actually DREW last year:

NM- elk, bear, oryx
UT- general deer, archery elk, cow moose, cow elk, 2 doe deer, doe pronghorn
WY- bull elk, cow elk, Buck Deer, 2 doe deer, Buck Antelope, 2 doe antelope
ID - deer

Applied but did not Draw:

NM: Deer, Sheep
CO- deer, elk, antelope
UT - elk, sheep,
WY - moose, sheep, Mtn goat
NV- elk, sheep, goat, antelope, deer
ID - Moose
AK - Moose, sheep, goat
MT - moose, sheep, goat

Good Luck, everyone!

So far I have drawn an AK goat tag for 2008, and a WY bull elk and cow elk tag. I have basically put in for (or will soon) the same range of tags again this year.

The really tough part is I put my wife and two boys in for many of these same hunts as well. It is really tough keeping track of who drew what and who is going hunting when! (Its a tough problem, but somebody has to do it Big GrinSmiler )

How did you DRAW deer in Idaho and also apply and not draw moose last year?

This Idaho resident would like to know the secret.

There are lots of hunting opportunities on American Indian Reservations for a price with no state license required. One I go to is the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation in San Carlos,AZ.Friends have hunted the Jicarillo Apache Rez in northern NM.Others are: White Mtn Apache Rez,Navajo Indian Rez,Mescalero Apache Indian Rez,etc. Do a google search of indian reservations with hunting!

SG Olds,

Technically you are right, of course. You can't draw a deer tag if you apply for moose. I had an over the counter deer tag, in much the same way my archery elk tag in Utah is an over the counter tag. While both of these tags are limited, there is no actual draw beside getting your money in soon enough.

Clear enough?

Bill

Yes, clear. I figured you miss typed when you said you DREW a deer tag and failed to DRAW a moose tag in Idaho.
