I was wondering if any one has any experience with elk and deer hunting in NW Montana? Specifically the "kootenia national forest unit 121". I'm doing some research for elk hunting in that area. I've located several outfitters in the area. Any info would be appreciated. Are there good numbers of animals? Thanks for your help. Mark

I don't know that much about elk hunting, but I'll be in SW Montana this year. Elk herds are supposed to be doing good down there. Going with my family who live up there. Montana sure is a great state. My Uncle sent me a magazine/ pamphlet on hunting in Montana that came in the sunday paper. Any state that get's hunting magazines in the paper is a great state to me.
