Just curious. Does anyone think like me and have to carry a certain piece of gear on the hunt, and panic without it? My two pieces of mojo are the buck folding hunter given to me by my parents on my 18th birthday (a long time ago), and my drag rope which was set up for me almost 30 years ago by an old navy vet who whipped loops in each end. Both have been with me on every hunt from Newfoundland to Wyoming.
Several years ago, I almost killed a guy who tried to cut the rope from which was hanging my Mulie. Looked just like a rope to him!!! Don't know what I would have done!

Still carry my first hunting license and (steel deer tag) from 1955. First tag, first kill.

Both of you guys have me beat. I just pick up a buckeye during scouting each year. Actually have one in my pocket today.

I Have an Indian eye that is woven from yarn that I have carried on all my hunts. Also a stag handled fix blade knife that i have had for years. Just habit I guess but I have had a lot of success while carrying them!!!

For several years now I have carried a pen knife with which my grandfather gutted all his deer. It's what I use too. Since my dad died, I've carried his old compass; nothing fancy, but it was his. This last year I tossed an old 12 ga slug cartridge of my dad's in my pocket on opening morning and shot a buck and a doe within the first hour and a half of the season. I think all three will ride with me from now on.
