This clip was apparently taken recently with a cell phone. It was taken from Hwy 93/95 in SE British Columbia, near Spillamicheen.

Check it out....here

The file is about 1.8mb. Turn the volume way up to hear the guys in the background.

Cool, eh? Smiler

Cheers,
Canuck

Yah. Further proof that [a human] trying to run from a bear is futile. That sucker really covered some ground.

I've had 2 grizzlies outrun my truck on the haul road going uphill... close to 40 mph and they were pulling away from us.

Brian

I had seen a similar film on TV where a grizzly ran down an elk calf .He moved very fast !! The sheep don't have as much chance of course . If we could only train them to chase tree huggers !!!

I saw a video somewhere where a guy shot a grizz with a recurve bow. He shot it from about 20-25 yards and that bear went insane and immediately attacked. There was rifle back up and lucky too for the poor misguided fool that poked a sharp stick into a grizzly. He got 2 arrows into it and they were both good shots but damn did that thing move fast!!!

Obviously motivated by need to eat. No catch the sheep - no eat. I suspect the bear has figured out that these are easier to catch than deer or elk.

I bet the sheep's owner was just thrilled. While I like grizzly bears a lot more than sheep, he might have a much different point of view.

I saw a cow moose barely outrun a blond griz for about a mile. Then last year I watched three griz a sow and two full grown cubs haul butt across the tundra. It looked like they were doing the breast stroke across stuff you can hardly walk through.Thats why I say the 338 is the littlest caliber to be fooling with in Alaska. You can bunp into a bear almost anywhere here.

That justifies the need for a .416 and the practice required to shoot it properly.

That clip must be made up. That kind of thing doesn't really happen. Just ask your local bunnyhugger!

I'm surprised that the furry sheep killer let them get as far as they did before he lowered the boom. ... Must have thought something wasn't quite kosher ... sort of like shooting a seagull or two .. or so I would imagine ... bewildered Eeker Smiler

I don't know why they weren't shooting the bear with bullets instead of film.

If a bear was attacking my sheep I would have to do something about it.

He looked to be a pretty good ways off, but I would think that when he laid down to feed I could have put a 270 grain X bullet in him pretty easily.

Actually I dont mind the bear catching a feed, kind of entertaining also,as farm life can be a tad boring at times.
Its healthy to throw a christian to the lions every now and then, a clear reminder of their place in the world, sharpens em up a bit Winktruth be known, no one really misses them anyway.

Everthing needs trimming in the world for it to grow stronger be it flora or fauna. Its stated in the Bible itself.
John 15:2
"Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more"
