Widely speculated amongst friends here that is what happened when he didn't show. We give up our backcountry skiing when the first tracks are seen, normally around 3/5 or so. Tragic.

Additional information, not confirmed but on local radio- He was horn hunting and the bear has been killed.

Unfortunate and that can happen to all of us
After few sightings in Clearwater, I carry shotgun to my bear baits religiously ( buckshots )
