| I took my bull at 200 yards with a 200 grain Nosler Partition launched at 2750 fps from a 325 WSM. That worked quite well. |

| Either a .300 WinMag, if the range is 100 yards or more, or a .45-70, if the range is 100 yards or less. Namibiahunter . |

| I'll be packing my Model 70 in 375 H&H trying to get ready for Africa, but will have my ultra mag for the cross canyon shots. First time in 24 years I haven't had my 338 super grade along.
The only easy day is yesterday!

| Doesn't look like things will pan out this year for an elk hunt since I didn't draw my tag this year. I was going to hunt with a .50 Cal NEF muzzle loader. If I can swing a late season cow hunt I'll be taking my Savage 99 in .358 Win to chase them elk in dark timber. |

| I normally shoot a .338 with 225gr Partitions. But this year I'll take a "new" gun -- a pre-Garcia Sako in .300 Win -- using a "new" load, 180 gr. Accubond @ 3070 fps.
My son could use any larger caliber from my collection he wishes, but he refuses to take anything other than his tried and true Sako .30-06. He's taken elk, kudu, oryx, mountain zebra, springbok, warthog, jackal, whitetails, mule deer, pronghorn, coyotes, bobcat, and feral hogs with it and he just doesn't see the need of anything else. Can't say that he's wrong. He'll use 180 Partitions @ 2780 fps. |
