I don't have the story yet just pictures. However the guy in the picture is my Brother-in-law's older brother. This deer was hunted less than 10 miles from the house I grew up in out on the plains of SE Colorado. He's going to submit this one to P&Y.

Lots of mass on that old boy, and to do it with archery equipment makes it even that much more impressive!!!!

Great deer. Looks like he may have been shot one day and recovered the next. Great job.

After trying to kill speed goats on your Dad's place last year I can't imagine getting within archery range of that brute.

Quite a beast....

As you'll notice there is a little more cover out there this year. We had some serious rain this year, Dad got 8" in one night and it was all soaked up, in less than 24 hours. Before that we hasn't seen more than 3" total in the two previous years.

Incredible mass and what appears to be only minimal deductions from one side to the other. Huge congratulations to the lucky hunter.

Awesome buck!

BTW - just curious - Could it have some White-tail genes? I understand that White-tails & Mule deer interbreed in some parts of the Rockies.
