Does anyone have experience hunting elk with the Pueblo of Acoma? I talked to these guys at Salt Lake City last year, but I hadn't heard much about them. Thanks!! Go Duke!! | ||

As far as I know they have a good reputation and a great area. I have a friend who has hunted with them several times. He’s killed 3 very big bulls with Acoma, the last 2 both grossed comfortably over 400”. IIRC, the biggest was a bit over 410”. I hunted south of Acoma some years ago in unit 13. Acoma is in the northern part of that unit. I killed an old drought withered bull that was aged at 12 years and which grossed 386”. We were told my bull, which was widely known in the area, would have grossed about 410-415” the year before I shot him. The locals said he was 25-30” bigger the year before. If you hunt with the Pueblo, you’re hunting some of the finest big bull country in North America. | |||
