Remember that light is toxic to internal organs and the more light you let in the faster death occurs. Cool

This is a great thread and I like the comments as I believe all are correct comments even though many seem in conflict. How can that be?

We've all had different experiences and in one environment an animal that runs 100 yards is no problem to find.....as in pronghorns. That same shot on a deer in dense brush will create a different opinion. A bullet that destroys large bones on it's way will not exit as likely as one that hits only tissue.

In the end result the desirability of exits is purely a result of one's experiences under a lot of environments and for this hunter with 45 years of experience with (mostly) deer and pronghorns and African plains game.....I want exit holes.

This actually don't mean squat.........except to me. Others can pick and choose bullets with other goals in mind. I am now looking at premiums and heavy for caliber with the idea that exits are beneficial.

BTW, an exit hole is (agreed) no guarantee of bleeding but lack of one is a guarantee that there will NOT be bleeding. Sometimes we need to examine the converse statement to get to the truth.

In the end it's simply a matter of playing the probability of things and from my experiences the probability is in exit holes. They make it a slightly better chance of tracking the animal in tough situations where you don't have a professional tracker available.
