If youre considering the nosler ballistic tips why not use the bonded plastic tips made by Swift, Nosler and Hornady. They "should" hold together better.

The 308 is on fine medium range hunting cartridge. The range you plan to take game, the 150 grain flat base soft point bullet should be ideal for those game animals you will hunt. Rel-15, Varget, Imr-4064 powders are all noted performers in the 308 case. The 150 grain Remington Cor-Lokt bullet has a long history of excellent bullet performance on all deer sized game animals.

I have harvested deer using the .308 diameter 125 or 130 grain bullet with shot placenment behind the shoulder in the heart lung area. The lighter weight 30 caliber bullet produces exceptional hydrostatic shock to deer size game animals. Thin skinned animals, like deer, do not require heavy bullets, since the bullet will pass through and not mushroom as well. Better the bullet releases all it's energy inside the animal not down range after pass through.
