Looking to book a pronghorn hunt for next year. Something with decent accommodations since Mrs Blacktailer will probably come along. Closer to AZ is better.

A little late for New Mexico and Texas hunts but check out Jeremy Gugelmeyer who posts here. Several of us on these boards have hunted with Jeremy and we have all taken nice trophies!

He posts as JeremyKS...

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...

And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Blacktailer;

I've hunted through Randy Routier, who posts here. Fabulous hunt, but Gillette, Wyoming, not AZ.

I stay in town and drive out to ranch each day (about 20 miles). The best of both worlds.

Best regards, D. Nelson

I would be happy to answer any questions you have and see if we are suitable for what you're looking for. We are in Wyoming and South Dakota though.

WEst Texas from Van Horn to Sanderson, best bet is Marfa, Alpine Marathon..Contact the City of Alpine, they have a list of ranches taking hunters..Id say 100 percent success and good folks, not guides just ranchers that know their ranch and there deer and antelope, they live amonst them..

Arizona has some great pronghorn hunts and huge trophy bucks as does New Mexico..just north of Demming..

Howard Dobbs in NewMexico, God's Country Outfitting. Hardest working and most honest outfitter I've ever known and I have hunted with alot of outfitters. He does the guiding himself. He guided me to a 93 B&C antelope and several large elk. All on public land!

If you want to hunt near Arizona, you're pretty much limited to New Mexico. Texas, Colorado and Wyoming are other options, but none are that close to AZ. The good thing about New Mexico is, landowner tags guarantee you the opportunity to hunt. You might want to check out Jim Welles, who goes by JFWRC or something like that here on AR. He offers pronghorns on several New Mexico ranches. If you're looking for a truly big buck, Tony Grimmett, who is an Arizona based outfitter (Pronghorn Guide Service) might be one of your best bets for a truly big buck. He has leases on some very good properties in southern New Mexico. The Grimmett's only guide pronghorn hunts, and they're very good at finding B&C caliber bucks. I've hunted pronghorns in New Mexico several times, always had good hunts there.

Thanks for the info folks! I have contacted a couple of outfitters suggested. Looks like I can get something together in NM. Would love to hunt AZ but you typically need 15-20 points to draw here and I would like to do this before I hit my 80's.

Tony sets the world records guiding and has most of the records in New Mexico and Arizona. I used him on my Arizona hunt (14 year tag) and managed a 93” buck. He is the man when it comes to pronghorns.
