I started hunting back East where slugs were the only permitted ammuniton for deer. I can't speak for the modern sabot slug since all my experience is with "Foster" type. I've killed several and seen many others killed very effectively with them but I've also found performance to be hard to predict. I shot a small buck at 7 yards with my 12ga and the slug didn't pass all the way through while my uncle killed a larger buck at 257 yards with a 20 gauge that passed through the deers ribcage. That's right, 257 yards! It was an irresponsible shot but he made it. A member of our party actually got a tape measure and taped the distance. Maybe someone else can comment on the newer designed slugs?

If those RWS slugs are solid lead like I think they are and your gun is regulated for them you are all set. The Foster slugs that are common here are hollow and weak of structure. Of course on a light boned animal they may be optimum. But on a hog which is much tougher they would not be my first choice. Shoot the boar just behind the shoulder slightly below center. Never mind meat damage. The idea is to bag the game and sort that out later.
