Bison DEFINITELY flee if hunted regularly. The herd in The Yukon now runs like hell at the sound of a distant snowmobile. It is important to remember that the BFC's main target is the hunt for those animals roaming outside of Yellowstone. Yes, these animals stand around like parked cars just like those in the Yukon did a few short years ago. This behavior will change but only WITH hunting. The BFC people are wrong plain and simple. I even went so far in a discussion with one of their representatives to invite him to the Yukon this year so he could understand how "real" Bison act. No response except "well, I guess we will have to agree to disagree". Best, John

There are vast differences in a ranch hunt and a limited entry permit hunt of a wild herd. The words ranch and hunt just don't mix...like oil & water. Ranch bison will indeed run if pestered enough but wise ranch owners will only hunt a particular pasture lightly. Then the bison stand around just like livestock. Ranch shooting is really just killing your own meat.
