Just got in from first morning of a 3 day prairie dog shoot. We are on a ranch is central eastern colorado. Just pointed out where to go and then left alone. Me and one buddy. Had a frustrating morning getting everything unpacked and figured out. Missed quite a few working out click charts from computer to reality. Got it rolling after a couple hours. Longest kill of the day only 450, mirage got pretty bad after 10am. Looking to double that before leaving.

Yep, shot one at 456 today with the 500 shocker paul is along as well. Been rotating between my 300 win, 257 weatherby, and 220 swift. Needless to say i was a bit busy the last couple weeks working up load development and loading up several hundred rounds Eeker prepping for a aoudad hunt with mulie mike in Oct

Brent, Congratulations to you both! I hunt probably in the same area, but on a weekly basis since it is a closer drive from Colorado Springs than it is for you coming from VA.
Was there anything left of a PD after hitting it with the .300WinMag or the .257 Wea?

Prof, we are in Eads hunting on a family owned ranch with Kevin Brown. Lots of dogs. Mirage gets pretty bad by 11 and near impossible at noon. Got one out at 600 ish this morn and lots at 450-250. The 300 win blows things in pieces with the hpbt hornady. 257 as well. Quite a few several feet in the air

If you want to get consistent aerial acrobatics, hit them in the hips while they are sitting upright. It'll launch them every time with the rifles you're using.
