I have been looking at the Frogg-Toggs, and have about decided to get them through Campmor. If not them the Marmot PreCip. The rest yet to buy: The North Face Cat's Meow long Bag Z-Lite Regular mat A Petzl light - Myo 3 or Myo 5 Performance Fleece 3-button pullover Pair of liner socks High Peaks Pinnacle II fleece pants Couple pair of Duofold VariTEC 360 Stretch HydroDuct briefs A set of SilkSkin long johns A hiking staff I haven't made up my mind on the pack yet. Probably an internal frame with Camelbak; or maybe one of Cabela's Alaskan models. Any thoughts? Other than that I'm good to go I think. Not prepared physically, but I'll make the best of it. Everyone getting sick around me. My relief showed up, and went down the second day with Bombay-belly. He lost two kilos in two days. A friend just recovered after losing four kilos in a week. I've got a few Canadians working for me, they are making me nervous about the flies and mosquitos. They tell me they will be thick in July. I've been looking at the sunrise / sunset times. Sounds like there is about 22 hours of daylight every 24. I expect to be totally screwed up for a day or two.

I have the Cabela's Alaskan...it has packed out 1 moose and 5 bou.The holes are a little out of round and the pack has seen better days.I like the one big compartment, some don't. But when you have to pack a load of meat it works. When I replace it I'll probably try a pack from Barney's Sport in Anchorage. http://www.barneyssports.com/ The water bags that Cabela's sells fit in the side pocket. And spotting scope/tripod fit in the other. For bugs bring DEET.Bens in the orange bottle works. But it will eat foam, like on a trekking pole handle, and plastic etc...Be careful what you touch with it on your hand.I take a cloth and use that to wipe it on. As far as daylight...you will be so tired you will not have a problem sleeping. If you have not done alot of prep work, ie walking in steep country with a pack,Tell Stan.He has easier areas so you can still enjoy yourself. He has some areas that will kill you if you can go.Pace yourself, don't get burned out the first day.If you are not use to walking in tough country, and you go 10-15 hard miles the first day,you might need a few days to recover.Depending on your age/shape you might not be able to really get after them again.Talk to your guide and be candid. Oh yeah.Bring a couple HD garbage bags. The real thick ones, like for leaves etc...You can put clothes to keep dry inside your pack. Then when you pack out your ram,put the meat in one to keep the pack blood free.Get the meat out and hanging to air dry asap though.Pillow cases or meat bags to put the meat in when you get back to camp. What boots did you get?And what waders are you bringing for stream crossings?Wiggy's makes a lite wader that fits over your boots. It is getting close.T-60 days!
