I always find it interesting when talking with folks about deer hunting.....what different people like most about a Whitetail's rack.

Question:
What is your favorite characteristic that you like to see in a big Whitetail's antlers?....and why?

Choices:
Mass
Width
Tine Length
Lots of Points
Non-Typical Points (abnormal points)

For the record, my vote goes to "mass".....I like HEAVY mass more than anything else.

I like non typical horns better than a perfectly balanced rack.

Also, I like High horned deer much better than a wide spread.

Nothing says mature, like mass.

Honestly, I want them all. Still looking for the dream buck with all of them.

I like mass, lots of points, non-typical points, tine length.... but width? I almost didn't shoot this buck because he was only 19" inside. That is.... almost didn't shoot for about 2 seconds. Big Grin

JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

I like mass but I need them to be at least 13" wide to legally shoot in my county.

Is it wrong to want one with tall tines, lots of points and mass, and a huge spread? beer

What if I said "None"? Nothing quite like a nice, fat Doe on the dinner table!

Nothing like mass, which indicates a mature buck!
