After lots of hard hunting, I have finally taken the lion of my dreams.

The outfitter was Bear Basin Outfitters ( www.bearbasinoutfitters.net )and the houndsman was Jason Reinhardt. The 10-12 year old cat was taken in the Hoback Canyon, Teton County, Wyoming.

I'll post more photos as they become available.

All kidding aside, I too would like to hear the details of the hunt for this great trophy.

Thanks you guys. I don't want to give away the whole story as Jason has been writing about each encounter with this lion for over five years and it will end up in a magazine article.

Suffice it to say that this cat killed his best dog five years ago, and has gotten away since then by standing his ground and slashing dogs. Monday was his demise after another fives days of tracking. The terrain was too tough to snow machine the dogs in, so fording the Hoback River during winter on foot was in order. After the shot, the cat landed on his feet ready to fight!

God, what a hunt!!!

Good job. Good to have gotten the old lion that he'd been hunting so long. Well done.

Let us know when that article comes out. I'd like to see it.

Also, I want to drink in a bar where you can bring in a dead Mt. Lion and it's cool with everyone.

The Hunt goes on forever, the season never ends.

I didn't learn this by reading about it or seeing it on TV. I learned it by doing it.

Thanks Matt, it has been a great week.

This will give you some idea of his size.

That photo is of Jason with the cat.

I want to live in a community where you can take a dead animal into a bar and everybody comes to your table to drink with you. I just don't see that happening in Atlanta.

JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

Good gosh! You are the Cat King, my friend. Congrats Scott!
