Failure of wildlife officals to act cost inocent Montanan women her life https://www.cnn.com/2023/09/07...ho-killed/index.html A grizzly bear that killed a female hiker near Yellowstone National Park in July, and mauled a man in Idaho in 2020, has been euthanised after breaking into a home in Montana, officials say. The 10-year-old female grizzly and her cub smashed a kitchen window at a home near the town of West Yellowstone on the morning of 2 September and stole dog food, the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks said in a statement. Wildlife officers captured the cub and shot the adult grizzly dead later that evening after receiving clearance from the US Fish & Wildlife Service, due to grizzlies protected status under the Endangered Species Act. As the 500-pound bear slashed his back, swung him to the ground and bit his stomach, he looked into its eyes and was sure this was the end. “I said to myself, ‘Well, at least I’m getting killed by a pretty bear.’ She was very beautiful,” Godar says. | ||
