Apologies if this is not the correct place for posting. I am holidaying in Montana at the beginning of August from the UK with my wife, any ideas for a great cabin retreat?
Thanks Matt

I don't know about a cabin in Montana becasue I don't live there, but I do know about Yellowstone because I have been there many many times, and I would say that if you are coming all that way from the UK you should definitely spend a day or two in Yellowstone National Park, and if you can take advantage of it, stay at the Historic Old Faithful INN.

Then, drive up to Glacier National Park and take a ride on Going to the Sun Road. You and your Mrs. will not regret it.

kimsmarina.com has some cabins it's on canyon ferry lake in northern Montana. Great area that I've been to while bowfishing for carp. They have boats to rent and the sprort fishing is supposed to be pretty good. I was told that the walley limit is 20 a day. Great scenery arond the lake too.

Thanks for the info, we have booked a place between Bozeman and Livingstone. Any thoughts of have a go shooting ranges? Would love to try pistol again since the ban here in the UK. Miss my Glock 22!

You'd be better off finding a "good ol boy" or "local" to you Wink There must be someone from Ar who would take you out to the back 40 with some hand cannons for real shooting insead of the 22.

That would be great! Love to meet up with some locals from here. By the way a Glock 22 is
.40 S&W not .22RF.

I am located roughly between Helena and Great Falls, just north of Craig. That puts me a solid 3+ hours away if your near Bozeman and Livingston.

IF You find your way to my area...I'd be happy to let you shoot some handguns.

An alternate plan. Look up the Logan Range just out of Bozeman. You may be able to hook up with one of the locals or an Instructor and get to do some shooting. Very nice Range, very friendly members.

The forest service rents out cabins and even some lookout towers contact a forest circus office in the area your going to be in for more info. The lookout towers are a neat way to spend a few nights.
