I'm hunting elk this fall in Colorado, Oct 11-15, and wanted to hunt pronghorn in Wyoming for a few days beforehand. I haven't been able to reach anyone in the Sheridan Regional office of the Wyoming Game and Fish. I'm looking for a landowner list of property owners with pronghorn hunting available.
I'd like to hunt Oct 6-8 for pronghorn. Anybody know who I can contact? Anybody want to team up for this?
It's pretty late to even think about getting on any private property this late in the year unless you just want to buy some leftover doe licenses. There are a couple places listed in the Hunter Assistance Program if you click on that on the right side of the main page of the G&F website and then click on the Sheridan Region when that program pops up. This kind of stuff needs to be done very early in the year before the application period for the draw is even run, as most places fill up quickly or are already leased out to outfitters. I also question the previous comment above because I've heard of a number of people contacting the Gillette G&F Office and getting a list of ranchers emailed to them.
I had a outfitter in Colorado trying to get me a landowner tag, but that fell through late in the game, hence the late start.
I'll go for a doe if possible, or a guided hunt if I find a cancellation or open spot somewhere. Just trying to double up the hunting given the long drive.
Lora and I arte working to get some left over Doe/Fawn tags in the Sheridan Region. I think the deal is looking for buck tags may be difficult.
I like hunting pronghorns and Lora and I both enjoy eating pronghorns. There are land owners that want to control overall numbers, and that means shooting does and fawns, so finding left over buck tags might be a headache.
idk what part of WY you're looking at, but what about public land and leftover tags? i've had great success on public dirt a little north of cheyenne in '10 and '12, and will be going back this october for more DIY hunting. the goats arent the biggest on earth, but lots of fun to chase around.

He is obviously looking at leftover tags since he doesn't have any right now after the draw was completed. What unit do you have tags for this year or are you going to buy leftovers?
Lora and I received a land owner's list yesterday from the Sheridan office, but it is for places that are taking doe/fawn hunters.
We are still going to be contacting a few more folks over the next couple of days so we will have everything ready when those tags go on sale on the 17th.
From what I have seen so far this year a person is going to be really lucky if they can find a buck tag.
