So how do you think this caliber will do for big game hunting in a rifle. I see Marlins other company (new England) has put out a single shot handi rifle with a 22" barrel. I myself would love to see a marlin lever action in this caliber for deer and black bear hunting in the north east. I bet it would be a good choice for close range elk and moose also. What do you guys think ?

I would like to see Marlin build one with a 24" octagon barrel and weighing around 8 1/2 lbs. But knowing Marlin they will likely build a 6 lb. Guide gun.
