I am going to be attending the Shot Show this year, and would like to know what there is to do in the area?

Would it be too hard to organize a gator hunt?

Alligator hunts on private land can be arranged. I don't know exactly when the permit hunts take place. However you have to apply.

Hogs hunting should not be hard to arrange.

There is limited preserve type bird shooting available relatively nearby.

Randall Knives is in Orlando, so you could always visit there and take a tour. Charlie Goldenberg of Premier Safaris is just north of there in Apoka and he has a big booking agency and trophy room.
Disney World is there. You can do an alligator hunt as previously noted, but is isn't necessary to draw a tag. There are a bunch of licensed alligator trappers in the state and you can accompnay them for a $50 assistant permit and help them catch lizards. I did this in Naples a few years back and took 3 of them that day.

There is an outfit called Florida Slam Outfitters a couple hrs north of there, He does a lot of hog hunting on 3000 acres of private land. In Fl, hogs on private land can be hunted year round with no limit. All you need is a hunting license.

Lots of fishing in the state. Take your pick on salt or fresh. Fl is famous for its angling.

I tried to do a google search for trapper assistant but couldn't find anything. Do you have a contact name/number for the outfit you went with?

Rent a car and spend a day or two at the Brady Ranch. It's not that far away and would be entertaining.

Just as a heads up, Randall Knives is open 7:00-5:00 Mon-Thurs. and 7:00-1:00 on Fri. I'd hate for you to make a trip to the shop on a Friday afternoon just to find a locked gate.

All the best,
Dan
