Some time ago there was a discussion here of the 7x64, and someone said Remington once produced factory loads for this caliber. I noted then that Remington catalogs until sometime in the mid 1990s listed this load, but then later it seems to have been dropped. Now I've gotten my hands on a Remington catalog for 2001, and it does list one load for the 7x64 -- it has a 175 gr. Pointed Soft Point Core-Lokt bullet. Remington's ballistic tables give muzzle velocity for this as 2650 f.p.s., so it seems to be a mild load. If you're in the United States, a 280 makes considerably more sense than the 7x64 as they are identical ballistically, and there are a lot more different 280 loads available here than there are for the 7x64.

Well I shoot a 7 x 64 and I live in Connecticut. Federal Loads 160gr Noslers in there's and its real good ammo too. I hand load so its not much of a problem. As for the Remington Load, sounds just right to me. I would shoot that load if it shot ok in my rifle.
