anyone have experience with brown bears and barnes originals? i have some 275 grain bullets but don't want to shoot a brown bear with an unkown bullet.

Some of the original Barnes soft points were made with different jacket thickness.Heavier jackets were made for magnums. The jackets were made of pure copper and the cores were pure lead .This ensured they would mushroom reliably.I would think you would want to make sure you have the heavy jackets if you plan on using them on big bears.

I don't have experience with Barnes but if you are shooting a high velocity 358 you may want to look into the Hawk line of bullets which can be purchased with different wall thicknesses.

If you want piece of mind for a heavy 35 bullet, get some 280 gr a-frames.
