As fast as my son filled his bear tag filling mine as been a bit harder.

For the last 3 days we have been hunting hard trying to get a decent bear ( around 200lb plus) up a tree. Or in a place I can shoot it on the ground.

We chased a couple had some small 100lbers in front of the dogs.

But no shooter yet. For those who think hunting with dogs is unfair. You should have been with us the last 3 days day light to dark wet up to the waist.

Lots of swamps mud and no bear.

I need to take a couple days off and get some chores done.

Tue, or Wed well be hard back at it.

Keep at it! Bear hunting in California has become a bit more difficult since the city folks voted to outlaw using dogs for bear.

That's bear hunting P dog. Those swamp sound nasty. We have mountains here but few swamps. I would take mountains over swamps any day.
Have fun

Humping up a mountain or through nasty swamps a hard choice for sure.

Over the years I found out the harder the place the smaller one wants the bear to be.

Neither mountains nor swamps are a big deal when you have an extensive road system. The nicest/easiest hound hunting I ever saw was in the UP of Michigan where we found it near impossible to be more than a half mile from a road. Often much much less. I imagine Wisconsin is similar, maybe better as far as roads. Keep at it, it's supposed to be a "hunt" after all.

We have had them that tree where one could almost drop them into the truck at the shot.

Then others that it was tough to get them out like my son's.

Roads systems are awesome!, you don't find a lot of roads here though. You make sure you bring a back pack. Skinning and boning is almost always done in the field.
