All,

Looking to do a Boar & Deer Hunt in Eastern US.

Can anyone recommend a place to go or an outfitter to see?

Any tips are appreciated.

Thanx in advance.

Your options begin in North Carolina and continue into Florida along the coast.
Alabama, Texas, and Missouri, all have hog and deer hunting operations, too.
Many are free-ranging, and some aren't. Choose wisely.

Are you looking for quantity or quality?

There are 3 places that I know of in the New England area that offer boar and deer hunts.

Maine: Hillside Guide Service & Game Ranch
They offer Wild Boar, Fallow Deer, Sika Deer, Red Stag, Elk, Buffalo, Bear etc... There website is www.hillsideguideservice.com

Vermont: Wild Hill Preserve
Their website isn't much, but it will give you an idea of what they offer. My brother has done a boar hunt there and was very pleased with everything.

There is one other in Vermont, but they do not have a website.

I believe NC has a six-deer limit; I don't remember if they classify hogs as a game animal.

South Carolina has no limit, but the plantations usually restrict you to one or two deer a day. I hunted one place there, but saw no shootable deer in three days, and no hogs at all.

I think you'll have to make a choice between unlimited deer (mostly non-trophy), and unlimited hogs.

Give my partner, Col Mike Stroff ( USMC ret) a call at Flatwoods Outfitters in North Carolina
(910) 353-7593. We just opened up a great new place in South Carolina Blackwater Plantation, right off I-95 that I think will fill your needs. jorge

I have done a bit of research on this topic, but focused only on Florida, where hogs are a pest. Guided hog hunts with dogs start at $150 for two persons and include quartering the hog and preparing it for shipping. There is a "guarantee" charge of $100, so a single is now at $250, or two people are at $175 each.

Type "Florida hog hunt" in your search engine to get a look at the options. I didn't check on deer, but it looked like both and hogs were offered on some of the sites.

Maybe see you around Orlando in March?

go to any place in south carolina right now for the hogs there are only a few places for hogs in north carolina if and in south carolina the deer season starts earlier and the limits are very liberal, but that being said we run dogs alot here in nc and on the last saturday of the season an outfitter in eastern north carolina had contacted my brother about turning his dogs out to expose 10 guys from new jersey who had paid 250 bucks a piece to hunt that day to a dog hunt needless to say we got there a little late but we turned out our dogs at 8:45 and by 1:00 there were 24 deer on the ground and numerous missed chances, that being said the blue tongue disease has cut some of deer population down in some places by maybe 15-20%, but by no means is there a shortage

If you want to come to Texas, I have unlimited hog and predator hunts for $850 per person ($1,250 if you want to add 2 Javelinas). The ranch is 16,000 low-fence acres and has a large pig and Coyote population. It's basically a 3 day hunt, and you have 100% opportunity on Hogs and Javelina, althoguh numbers vary. One group may come and catch it slow and each guy may only get 1 or 2 pigs, then another group may come and get all the shooting they can stand. Javelina are like fleas, and you sould see 30 or more every day. Coyotes respond well to the call. I just came back this morning and my clients shot at 21 Coyotes, although only 6 Coyotes and 1 Bobcat bit the dust.

I also have great deer hunting on that ranch and several others. Prices vary depending on which ranch and antler size.
