I'm in the midst of planning my next big project, a cargo trailer for hunting/outdoor purposes. Been looking at lots of cargo trailers, I want rear swinging doors and a side door towards the front. Partition off the front for a bunk, frig., RV stove/oven, etc. that'll be a useable living quarters. With the rear for cargo hauling, ATV, mountain bike, chest freezer, generator, etc. Anybody else do this ? I've seen a few horse trailers that'd convert beautifully to a use like this. But I'd prefer to do my own fabrication beyond a bare bones trailer.

I bought a gutted "tent trailer" about 13 years ago. It has a fiberglass hinged top and is about 10 feet long, 8 feet wide and a bit shy of 4 feet high. It holds all our gear and meat on the way home from our annual hunt in Idaho. The lower profile also helps reduce drag. The price tag was $75. It does sound like you want something with stand up room.

I found a cargo 5x8 trailer with one rear door afew years back for $500. It hauls my outfitters 10x20 tent all the stoves heater etc. Sure is nice to have all that stuff in one place. Hunting season getting close. VFW

Skinner, a bud of mine has a rig that is a horse trailer that is kind of like you describe. Two horses would go in the back, and you have the 'barn doors' back there with a partition dividing the space for the 2 horses. The front has all the gear you described, but Jim added a plasma TV with satellite dish. The 'cab over' area--the part that rides over the fifth wheel attachment in the bed of his truck, is a nice double bed sized bunk, and where you would step down there is the table for the 'kitchen' and it makes into a bed as well. I think he bought it pretty much the way it is, it has a potty/shower room and central heat and AC. As you can guess having a horse family, he has a few bucks, so I'm guessing that it wasn't real cheap, nice windows, flooring, trim and quality appliances. Good luck with your project--Don
