I have a friend that would like a good hunt for a cougar with hounds. I hunted once with Marc Hubbard in BC and shot a nice cat but would probably not recommend him. Who do you guys recommend for a good chance at a good Tom?

Thanks,

Larry

Please PM me if you want

I hunted with Wade Lemon in Utah in Early december. I was unsuccessfull, but am going back in early februrary for next to nothing.
Everything of the hunt was AWESOME. Guides, dogs, was great.
We just had horibble weather. It rained twice, and hadnt had a new snow in over 5 days.
We purely had horrible luck.
I wouild highly recomend him, and I cant wait to go back in just over 34 days.
Feel free to PM me with any questions.
Good Luck,
W.

I just go tback from an elk hunt with Garvey Brothers Outfitting in Colorado and although i dind't hunt cats i know that they take some really nice toms. All with hounds.

I talked to a few of the references when i was looking at the elk hunt and some of those references had hunted cat. Had nothing but great things to say about the hunt/size of the cats.

+1 for Randy. Rimrock Outfitters

He's been hunting lions for decades. This is Randy with my lion from the 1980s.

May I ask what sort of price range for a north American cougar and which states harvest the best trophy ?

I see hunting with hounds have been suggested

Is that the preferred method ?

The only one I can recommend is Byron Stewart of Tracks N Trails Outfitting in Alberta. I just got back last night from taking my third awesome tom with him. Nobody consistently puts their clients on giant cats like he does. Check out his website at www.tntoutfitting.com
